You can’t replace it with your existing radio, but you could add to it. The iPad would be great to add as a video display, mP3 player, and 3G web browser if you wanted.
It has a headphone jack, so you could utilize that and run an Aux input to your radio if it has it or you use an FM modulator to get the sound into your system.
I’ve thought about doing the same thing when they become available. I like it for the Google Maps feature on the 3G model.

How would any one know this since the device is not out yet? Maybe you could hot-glue it there…
